Prince Albert Optimist Toppers Volleyball Club is dedicated to the technical skill development of female athletes aged 12 to 18. We develop approximately 200 athletes per year who are committed to the sport and choose to compete at a higher level. The philosophy & goal of our club is to assist athletes in attaining the highest level of volleyball skill through training, teamwork & dedication. We provide an atmosphere that promotes strong values & teaches lifelong skills through sport.

The club is run completely by volunteers; our Toppers executive team, coaches & assistant coaches consist of business professionals, trusted community members, former players & parents whom generously volunteer their time in order to further develop both the program & its athletes. ​​

Toppers in a non-registered, non-profit club that prides itself on being able to keep the registration fees at a very reasonable rate. This has been made possible by the generosity of the Prince Albert Optimist Club as well as gym time provided by Saskatchewan Rivers Public School Division, Prince Albert Catholic School Division & École Valois facilities.
Toppers History
The Toppers Volleyball club was started in 1982 by school teacher and SaskVolleyball Hall of Fame inductee Howard Gange who wanted to better develop the high school volleyball program. The club started out with one Midget team & grew over the years. At one time Toppers included boy's teams, but they have gone on to form their own club -Prince Albert Volleyball Club.

In recent years, Toppers has up to 16 teams & over 200 athletes registered from U13 to U18 age categories. ​​Tryouts are in October & our season begins the end of November. Teams host a "home tournament" in Prince Albert, attend all Sask Cup events -2 or 3 depending on age group, & Sask Volleyball Provincials. Each team decides if they will attend Volleyball Canada National Competitions available for U14 and up. The season wraps up late April or May -depending on Nationals schedules, with an annual TOPPERS GALA evening where Toppers athletes, coaches & families gather to celebrate the season.
